The Artist

Gabo León Bernstein was born in Buenos Aires in 1982. He has studied Graphic Design at the University of Buenos Aires, Comic Art at the Garaycochea Art School, and Illustration with profs. M. Sosa and J. Bobillo. He has studies on painting, animation and narrative arts.

He has worked illustrating books for national and international publishers, such us Mondadori (Peter Pan, il Museo Abandonato, il Polveregno), Usborne (The Magic Gifts, Stories of Vampires),  Piemme (Geronimo Stilton, quinto viaggio al regno della fantasia), il Batello a Vapore (La Rotta dell’Isola Dimenticata), Penguin Reader (Macbeth, Little Women), Atlántida (La curiosa Aylén, Marvin Marbles), Alfaguara (Una Trenza Tan Larga), El Gato de Hojalata (Bestiario, Mitos de la Patagonia, El Señor de la Noche, Te Presto mi Cielo), Abrecascarones (Rex and the City, Ana y Matilda) and Aique, among others.

He has also worked on art, character and toy design for television (Chiquititas 2006, Cris Morena Group), background design for animation on movies and TV and has worked for advertising agencies and magazines.

He has lived to the present a rather linear life, and the more he struggles to learn how to play the violin, the more he’s convinced that painting is his life and passion.
